![]() | It is all too common for environmental education to be considered a purely scientific discipline and to be taught only in science classes. However, environmental education is a lot more than just science. We have designed four different samples of interdisciplinary environmental lesson plans in grade two social studies, math, health, art, and English; grade seven math, science, and social; and grade twelve English language arts and biology. The possibilities do not end there! Environmental education is an adaptable topic that can be incorporated at any grade level and in any subject to provide a more holistic learning experience. Our intention is to foster aware, engaged, and socially responsible citizens. Furthermore, as children develop environmental values, they will begin to promote the personal and communal well-being that lies at the root of environmentalism, and will hopefully work to improve their communities. We hope you enjoy exploring environmental education along with us! *For video links if the link does not work, please copy and paste the URL. |
